Arsenal to move for £26 million rated striker.

Arsenal have been in search for a striker for a while now and have been linked with a host of forwards from around Europe.

Daily Mail suggests that Arsenal are set to move for CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia. Although Arsenal had been trailing French striker Oliver Giroud but now it looks like they have switched their attention to the Ivory Coast international.

Doumbia who scored 38 goals last season is being valued at £26 million by CSKA Moscow, but it is believed they are willing to negotiate with interested clubs.

Signing Doumbia can be a good move from Arsenal as the player is still only 24 years old and he can link up well with his international teammate Gervinho who plays on the wing for Arsenal

Robin van Persie’s family wants Arsenal stay

20120529-163457.jpg

The Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks. However, van Persie’s mum, Jose van Persie, talking to The Sun newspaper made her views clear about his son’s situation. She said:

“Arsenal love him and that’s a great incentive to stay. Arsenal are a fantastic club. They have no debts and Robin is idolised there.”

Let us hope our captain is a mama’s boy and doesn’t let her down by leaving the club.

I previously mentioned the same thing what Jose has said about her son being ‘idolised’ here at Arsenal. The way fans and the club treat him here and the love he gets here, I am sure he will not find that sort of feelings else where.

If he doesn’t listen to his mum then surely he should listen to his Wife Bouchra van Persie who said:

“Arsenal showed faith in Robin when he was going through a lean time, so we should not repay them by thinking about other clubs. Our home life and our children are happy in London.”

I personally think all the stories coming up in the newspapers are made up, we have not heard anything from the player himself or the club so we should not start believe all the stories we hear.

Robin has previously stated on several occassions that he loves the club and will always been a Gooner so let us hope he stays at the club he loves.

Djourou told to quit. Bendtner and Vela in talks with other clubs

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has been told by Switzerland manager Ottmar Hitzfeld that in order to be able to start for his country he must play regular football for his club.

He advised the defender to quit Arsenal and move to a different club to get more playing time in order to boost his chances to represent his country for World Cup 2014 qualifiers. Talking to RTS Sport he said:

“For Djourou, the question arises of a transfer.

“If he wants to be selected, he must have some game time in the club. This is not the case at Arsenal.”

Djourou only extended his contract at Arsenal in February 2012 but has hardly featured for the club, often filling in at right-back position filling in for Sagna.

Striker Carlos Vela who had an impressive season on loan at Real Sociedad is reportedly in talks with other clubs, as he looks to leave Arsenal where he has failed to get first team football. His agent reportedly said:

“There are several clubs interested in him because he had an exceptional year. All the clubs are important, because Carlos has shown the talent and strength he has.”

“Back to Arsenal could be an option, but I do not know if it’s ideal. (They) are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but Carlos wants to play. The decision will be made by Wenger.”

Another player who is looking to leave the club is Danish Striker, Nicklas Bendtner who said that he has received several offer but will decide on his future after Euros.

Bendtner who scored against Brazil said:

“Yes, I have talked to other clubs. I have told all the clubs that I want to wait until after Euro 2012. We have got plenty of time to sort out the future.”

German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in the Denmark international.
