Arsenal to move for £26 million rated striker.

Arsenal have been in search for a striker for a while now and have been linked with a host of forwards from around Europe.

Daily Mail suggests that Arsenal are set to move for CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia. Although Arsenal had been trailing French striker Oliver Giroud but now it looks like they have switched their attention to the Ivory Coast international.

Doumbia who scored 38 goals last season is being valued at £26 million by CSKA Moscow, but it is believed they are willing to negotiate with interested clubs.

Signing Doumbia can be a good move from Arsenal as the player is still only 24 years old and he can link up well with his international teammate Gervinho who plays on the wing for Arsenal

Robin van Persie’s family wants Arsenal stay

The Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks. However, van Persie’s mum, Jose van Persie, talking to The Sun newspaper made her views clear about his son’s situation. She said:

“Arsenal love him and that’s a great incentive to stay. Arsenal are a fantastic club. They have no debts and Robin is idolised there.”

Let us hope our captain is a mama’s boy and doesn’t let her down by leaving the club.

I previously mentioned the same thing what Jose has said about her son being ‘idolised’ here at Arsenal. The way fans and the club treat him here and the love he gets here, I am sure he will not find that sort of feelings else where.

If he doesn’t listen to his mum then surely he should listen to his Wife Bouchra van Persie who said:

“Arsenal showed faith in Robin when he was going through a lean time, so we should not repay them by thinking about other clubs. Our home life and our children are happy in London.”

I personally think all the stories coming up in the newspapers are made up, we have not heard anything from the player himself or the club so we should not start believe all the stories we hear.

Robin has previously stated on several occassions that he loves the club and will always been a Gooner so let us hope he stays at the club he loves.

‘You will see him in red and white’. Wenger confirms striker will sign.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger remains confident that his star striker Robin van Persie will sign a contract extension at the club.

Robin van Persie who scored 30 league goals last season only has a year left on his current contract at Arsenal and Wenger is adamant that the captain will stay at the club next season. Talking to media Wenger said:

“I am confident that you will see Robin van Persie in the Barclays Premier League next season and I am very confident you will see him in red and white [Arsenal].”

Arsenal captain has been linked with a host of top European clubs, with the Premier League champions, Manchester City, remain favorites for his signature should he decide to leave the club.

It has been reported that van Persie was offered wages of £130,000 a week plus a £5 million signing on bonus but he refused the offer and told the club no amount of money will make him stay at the club. As he looks set to join the players leaving Arsenal to win trophies.

Chelsea beat Arsenal to sign Hazard

Lille forward, Eden Hazard has finally put an end to months of speculation around his future by annoncing that he will be joining Chelsea this summer.

Arsenal had been linked with the Belgian for a number of years. Wenger was a known admirer of the player, however Hazard announced on his twitter page that he will be joining “champion’s league winner” Chelsea.

It is believed that Hazard has signed a 5-year contract with Chelsea worth £100,000 a week after tax and fee is believed to be worth around £30 million.

Arsenal midfield target to hold talks

Wigan midfielder, Mohamed Diame has been reportedly allowed to leave his national team camp to head over to England in order to talk with clubs over a potential move.

Arsenal have been linked with the Senegal internation Diame, who will be a free agent this summer as his contract with Wigan comes to an end.

According to SkySports, several premier league clubs are interested in signing the midfielder including Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa.

The 6ft 1in defensive midfielder has been pretty impressive for Wigan this season and has represented his country 10 times.

Diame can be an ideal addition to the Arsenal squad. Wenger is always looking for bargain buys and aquisition of Diame, who has 3 years of Premier League experience under his belt, can prove to be very beneficial for the club.

Arsenal Transfer Update: Torres, N’Zonzi, M’Vila, Ahmedov

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres who had been tipped to leave his current club and was linked with Arsenal a few days ago has insisted that he is happy at Chelsea and wants to ‘fulfill his dreams’ at his current club.

Spanish striker who was signed from Liverpool for £50 million said:

“I believe I deserved to play more and there were times I lost hope. Luckily it is part of the past. Now all I have in mind is to fulfil my dreams.

“I still have a lot to do in this club. It has been a difficult year, I didn’t play much and my mind was like a roller-coaster. At Chelsea I am very happy and I never said the opposite.”

According to a report in the Daily Mirror Arsenal are interested in Blackburn Midfielder Steven N’Zonzi and reports that Arsenal are set to lodge a £6 million bid with the relegated club. Fellow London club West Ham are also tracking the players progress and are interested in signing him.

The same paper also states that Arsenal are still interested in Athletic Bilbao midfielder, Javi Martinez and a long term target Yann M’Vila, who said yesterday that he will decide his future after the Euros. He has, however, made up his mind about leaving his current club

Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder, Odil Ahmedov, who Arsenal have been tracking for several seasons now has made his desire to join the Gunners, clear. Uzbek international said:

“I’m really happy to be playing at Anzhi, they’re a club with a big future. But I want to try in England or Spain.

Clearly all the clubs in Spain and England are wonderful, but I would like, if I had the choice, to play at Arsenal.”
