van Persie and Bendtner on target. Szczesny keeps a clean sheet.

Several Arsenal players were in action today, playing for their respective countries in the International friendlies.

Arsenal striker Niklas Bendtner who spent the season on loan, started and scored for Denmark as they lost to Brazil 3-1. Brazil started the game brightly as they went up 3-0 within 40 minutes.

With 20 minutes to go Bendtner grabbed a consolation goal for his country with a close range effort. Replays showed the goal was offside.

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie also scored for his country just before the half time, however he couldn’t help his team to victory as Bulgaria scored in the last minute to win 2-1.

New Arsenal signing was also in action for Germany as they lost 3-5 to Switzerland. Szczesny helped Poland to beat Slovakia 1-0 by keeping a clean sheet.
