Robin van Persie might not start, after winning yet another trophy.

Arsenal captain, Robin van Persie has won yet another award by being voted PFA fans’ player of the year. Having already picked up PFA Player’s players of the year and Writer’s player of the year, van Persie bagged his third award after having scored 37 goals in 48 appearances for Arsenal.

Dutch striker who has been linked with a move away from Arsenal, was praised by PFA chief Gordon Taylor, who said:

“Robin had an exceptional season and has established himself in the mould of previous top quality Dutch strikers such as Dennis Bergkamp, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Marco van Basten. He’s very much in demand and Arsenal fans will be worrying whether Arsenal can get him to stay or whether he will move on to the likes of Manchester City.

“Many of his goals were the best of not just this season, but any season when you think of the quality of some of his volleys. He really has been a talisman for Arsenal and as captain has lifted them into qualifying for the Champions League again when all looked lost.”

The 28-year old striker who has started both games for Holland at the Euros, might not start against Portugal in their final group game on Sunday, after Holland coach, Bert van Marwijk conceded that he will need to make some changes to the team upfront. Talking to Holland’s official website he said:

“Normally we have a lot of creativity and we are fast at the front, but against Denmark and Germany it was not there. But this happens in football. We lost two games, so I have to change my squad for match against Portugal.”

The Arsenal man who scored in Holland’s 2-1 defeat to Germany, has missed a couple of chances in the two games so far and Huntelaar is expected to start ahead of him as Holland hope to avoid humiliating exit from Euros.
