Doumbia heading towards exit as Chelsea enter chase.

CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia looks likely to depart the club after his club failed to qualify for Champions League.

Arsenal have been linked with the striker as they look to boast their forward line. Ivory Coast international plays alongside Arsenal forward, Gervinho, for his country.

According to reports the striker has a £26 million buy out clause. However following the revelation that the Moscow club is willing to let him leave for a fee around £15 million, Chelsea have also entered the chase to sign the striker.

Chelsea see him as an ideal replacement for his fellow Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba who is looking to leave on a free transfer this summer.

Talking to Corriere dello Sport, Dombia said:

“I’m not closing the door on any team. I could be interested if the project they’re working on convinces me. I am ready for the Italian championship, but also for Spain or England. I want to make the next step in my career.

“I want to play in the Champions League. But it doesn’t make sense to join a club that plays in the Champions League one year, and then doesn’t even play in Europe the next season.”

Arsenal need to act fast if they are serious about signing the striker as he is also attracting other top European clubs after scoring 38 goals and grabbing 11 assists last season.
