Arsenal can recoup MILLIONS by getting rid of the ‘Deadwood’.

Over the years Arsenal have developed a habit of grooming young players and turning them into world class footballers. One of the downsides of doing this is, well not everyone has what it takes to become a world class footballer.

As a result, after spending thousands and in some cases, even millions of pounds, these footballers do not quiet make it and the club is forced to let them go. Each year several of the youth team players are released as the club feels they will not be able to ‘make it’ at Arsenal.

Funnily enough there are several players in the Arsenal squad who are making millions of pounds a year and they hardly feature for the club and are simply not good enough to be at a club like Arsenal.

They not only include players from youth teams who were promoted to the first team but also some mega money signings.

Now let us take a look at these players and assess what went wrong with them and what is the best possible solution for them and the club.

Vito Mannone: Mannone never really got a chance to prove himself at Arsenal. He has been at the club for several years now and is still young. He impressed during his loan spell at Hull. I think he should be kept atleast for another year.

Lukasz Fabianski wants to leave the club to play regular first team football, unlike Mannone, Fabianski has had his chances but he failed to make his mark. Should be let go, he might do well in a different league.

Johan Djourou is another one from the Arsenal youth team. He has had his chances and also failed to make the most of them. He is a decent defender but is not good enough to play for a team that aims to win titles.

Squillaci he has been a liability since the day he started playing for the club, simply not good enough to be at a club like Arsenal. Should be released.

Abou Diaby he has been unlucky with injuries for several seasons now. No doubt Diaby has loads of potential but he has become a liability in recent years. He did however impress in the pre-season, so should be given one last chance at the club to prove he is worth the £60,000 a week he is being paid by Arsenal.

Denilson was signed in the same year as Diaby, there was a lot of hype about this fella when he came to Arsenal. He had a few good games for the club but hasn’t quiet lived up to the expectations. Like Diaby, he is also on a high wage so I understand it might be difficult for Arsenal to find a buyer for him. Therefore I think once his loan spell at Sao Paulo comes to an end next year, he should be let go. This might be beneficial for both the club and the player.

Andrei Arshavin had an amazing first few months at the club, but lately it has been looking like he has lost his touch. He is still the captain of his country, if we can sell him for £5-8 million it will be good for both the club and the player and this might give The Ox and Ryo a chance to shine. QPR and Fulham have been linked with the player recently.

Niklas Bendtner I always thought he had the potential to become a decent striker if given a proper chance, I was proved wrong after his loan spell at Sunderland. Again not good enough for a club like Arsenal, should be sold for £10 million, as he has enough Premier League experience.

Park Ju-Young & Chamakh both of them did not get a proper chance at the club. They are both low on morale should be sold back to the French league, I am sure they will do well there. Chamakh should be valued at £7-8 million and Park for around £2-3 million.

If these player are let go this year, we will save atleast £15-20 million a year in wages and also make about £20-30 million from transfer fees. This money can then be reinvested into the club if it isn’t simply paid into the pockets of the Board!

is really interesting to seen arsenal restructuring the team by injecting quality players in this summer transfer in the person of Giroud, podosik and Cazorla, I urge wenger to off load the deadwood in arsenal team to save cost as soon as possible.
